>> terry: in the news this saturday morning, five people found dead in san francisco. police are trying to figure out who did it, why and how. search and rescue teams in the south bay will dramatically expand their search for a missing teenager sierra lamar. i'm terry mcsweeney. it's wet outside. let's get a check with lisa argen. >> lisa: good morning. here is a look at emeryville. it doesn't look too bad but rain in the east bay and more is to come. in fact if you look at our radar right now, you'll notice we are looking at a shield of green and closer inspection, caesar chavez is wet, as well as sloat avenue just about to reach san leandro.

wet weather in san mateo, santa clara way and all around block mountain road. ralston avenue looking at spotty rain showers. rain pushing into half moon bay. it is slow in the south bay but by early afternoon everybody will be wet and stay wet throughout the day. more on the rest of the weekend coming up. >> terry: homicide investigators continue to comb through a house near city college where five people were found dead. it's not clear who killed three women and two men. police say its complicated crime scene and can't say for sure how the victims died. they set up a memorial there 32-year-old vincent lay le his wife and older sister.

>> i heard like a boom sound. someone yelled like very distinctly, get down on the ground now. in a very authoritative voice. >> reporter: san francisco police officers stand watch guarding this home near city college. >> we have a genuine tragedy. >> five adults were found dead inside. police say it was a family member who found the bodies. >> there is a female victim upstairs, female in the rear, two victims in the garage and male victim on the threshold of the door. >> reporter: some of the victims may have been shot. police do not believe there is anyone else in danger. >> it was pretty traumatic to hear the gravity and magnitude of what happened. >> reporter: she lives across the street and says she heard something. >> i did hear around midnight some very loud male person

arguing or yelling. >> reporter: she lives right next-door to the house and didn't hear anything until morning. >> somebody screaming, saying help me, help me. >> it's owned by software engineer. >> the coroner hasn't released the name of the victims so we don't know if the homeowner is dead. they believe the incident was contained to the house they are investigating all possibilities. >> we want to get it right. we want to find out what happened. we're going to take our time doing it. >> reporter: we don't know for sure if the homeowner is dead. coroner has not released names but the friend is saying that they were among the dead. you can see what is left of the memorial here. they were burning money for them to spend on the other side as well as food for them to eat.

>> terry: private party at a napa county golf course ended in violence with a man being stabbed. he had to be airlifted to a hospital shortly before hid night. police and chp were called in to control a crowd of hundreds at the chardonay golf course. >> they were pushing everybody out. that is what i'm saying right now. >> just a birthday party. >> yeah a birthday party. >> it turned into a big fight. >> terry: police were initially outnumbered but crowd left quickly and it left investigators with little information. in san leandro they are following up on leads after a young woman was found murdered. stabbed to debt in her car on beth avenue. she was specifically targeted, they say, and they are looking for a silver car seen at the

crime scene. it has now been eight days since a 15-year-old morgan hill teenage vanished and two hours from now, santa clara deputies will search a wider area for sierra lamar. she hasn't been seen or heard since friday morning. she never made i aboard her school bus. friends of a former high school held a candlelight vigil last night. >> more than 400 students crowded the entrance of washington high school. some are former schoolmates and some are friends close to sierra who has been missing since last friday. clare has known her since seventh grade. >> it's getting longer. we want her home. >> the mother was touched by the huge outpouring of support. >> i am so moved by this.

she is going to see this and come back to us. >> reporter: she disappeared after leaving for school. since then, sheriffs have conducted an intense search of the surrounding neighborhood for any signs of the missing teen. on sunday they found her cellphone near her home. they also found her purse with pants and a t-shirt a few blocks away. >> f.b.i. agents made a search around the home and checked inside the homes of neighbors. they blocked off an intersection and asked people if they had driven by and if they noticed anything. >> on friday it was a rainy day but we haven't seen anything. >> reporter: before the family went into the crowd lighting candles they made a plea for her to come home. >> we love you. hang in there. don't give up because we're coming for you. we're going to find you. >> reporter: her friends took up

a collection in the crowd to see if they could raise enough money to start a reward fund in order to bring their friend home. >> terry: search for a missing former marine joseph mchenry resumes in pacifica with high profile help. leland yee will join volunteers including marine buddies. they begin looking for the 27-year-old san bruno resident soon after he was reported missing on the 5th. a backpack was found on nearby beach. >> a the wife of suspended sheriff ross mirkarimi is heading back to venezuela tomorrow. they have learned that she and her three-year-old son will leave to visit her stepfather that has cancer and is undergoing therapy. it was approved by a family court judge. on monday, mirkarimi pleaded guilty to false imprisonment. on wednesday he was suspended

without pay by the mayor ed lee who wants him out of office. initial charges stems from his desire to take her son to venezuela. oakland mayor jean quan ahead today her war chest to fight off a recall campaign. members of a group called the chinatown community held a fund-raiser for quan. recall effort picked up momentum after a crackdown on occupy protestors. they say the recall is unnecessary side show. >> by doing anything negative, it's going to do something. so therefore we want to be having a more productive open for all of us. >> terry: two groups are circulating recall petitions. one has until mid may to collect enough signatures. coming up next, the president calls on the country to do some soul searching over the shooting death of a florida

beating of bryan stow. giovanni ramirez was taken into accused of beating him. they later arrested two other men. he still spent months in jail for a parole violation. but he is speaking out. he holds nothing against stow and his family but he thinks, lapd owes him an apology. >> i'm very upset. my heart goes out to his family and everything that happened. i mean even if they might have thought it was me at one point i'm not holding nothing against him. >> stow suffered a brain injury in the assault. >> bald eagles have returned to the peninsula and a long time in coming. they have got a nest deep in the woods at the northern end of crystal springs reservoir right off of 280. they are flourishing and no

for that. we have more rain on the way. right now from sutro camera, you can see the drops on the lens and a little shaky. delays of hour and 27 minutes at sfo due to the low cloud deck and clouds will bring us the rain throughout the entire day. in a portion of your sunday. here a loop of the past three hours. you'll notice the rain continues to push off and fill in around the bay this morning. here is a look at 101 through larkspur, san rafael into the east bay, 580, richmond, wet weather, novato boulevard. san francisco you got wet weather over to alameda. snrn is about to get wet. ralston avenue, black mountain road you are dry now. dumbarton bridge, san mateo bridge will see the rain. you are dry now but taking time

but it will hung up and see the rain accumulate into the santa cruz mountains. 44 in fremont. numbers have dropped. mid 40s in redwood city. we got a breeze by the delta. we are looking at the rain to last throughout the weekend. heaviest rain will be through the afternoon and evening hours. it's going to taper off not until tomorrow. we have a series of systems that want to visit us next week. here is the system. it's going to run parallel to the coast and when it does that most of the moisture will be right along the shoreline. timing it out through the rest of morning hours, northern sonoma county, a little bit of a break, south bay, morgan hill, santa cruz, we've got rain and lowering snow levels in mendocino county. the front stalls out and we still have rain chances and few more bands coming our rain. sunday morning, 7:00 and that is

why we're going to look at totals stacking up. into the afternoon, rain begins to taper. we'll be looking at a break, late afternoon into monday. between now and then, one to two inches in north bay. half an inch in the south bay. we're looking at winter weather advisory, 3:00 overnight tonight until 5:00 monday morning. 4-6 inches of snow above 3,000 feet. chain controls could be in effect. this is a cold system but the moisture hacking back west of sierra nevada. -- hanging back west of. 54 in gilroy. we're looking at the break on monday. late tomorrow on monday. more rain on tuesday and wednesday and maybe the storm track is going to push north. all bets are off because this year has been very strange.

bail. he was trying to board a flight to phoenix for a little getaway after driving from montana he was arrested at the airport on thursday. tsa screeners looked in his bags. >> he was in possession of four semi-automatic handguns, one he was carrying split between two bags. >> they don't believe he meant to harm anyone but they found eight more guns in his car. his mother says he was not thinking clearly lately. >> president obama is pushing funding for transportation projects such as the doyle drive project. he stresses that 90% of the jobs created are for middle-class workers. senate already passed the bill with support from both sides of the aisle but they fear the jobs

will stop if the house doesn't follow suit. >> fund will go stop for all sorts of transportation projects construction sites will go idle and workers will have to go home. our economy will take a hit. this congress can't let it happen. we should be doing everything in our power, democrats and republicans to keep this recovery moving forward. >> terry: house republicans are divided over the five-year, $260 billion spending package. >> he island yee wants employers to stop asking workers job applicant for their passwords to social media site. he introduced legislation to prevent that practice. nannette miranda has more from sacramento. >> reporter: most people looking for a job here at the employment development office say they are uncomfortable giving managers their social media passwords that gives them access to private profiles. that demand she says is

ridiculous. >> i don't want anybody in my privacy at all. whatever goes on in my life goes on with my life. >> but it's becoming a trend with so many people unemployed, companies feel they can be picky and want to know more. a facebook or twitter account could have unflattering pictures from vegas or information about recreational drug use. >> it is a form of coercion. >> desperate job seekers might be obligated to hand overpass words in exchange for a paycheck. >> when it comes to feeding one's family and taking care of them that is the highest priority. a lot of us would prioritize that over privacy concerns. >> state senator leland yee says that is not right and have introduced legislation that would ban agencies to asking applicants for their social media passwords. >> you cannot violate my privacy

by saying, i need that information. you got to get it from another way, another source. >> the practice seems more prevalent in the public sector, especially law enforcement. >> we don't ask for passwords. we ask for access. >> those that do not ask ask to be friended on facebook. >> that is one of red flags we look at. why don't they want to share those things with us? >> they don't approve anyone to ask for passwords. telling users you should never have to give your password account or jeopardize the security of your account. >> they want as far as saying it might help lawmakers pass proposals like this or initiate legal actions to protect its users. >> terry: california's unemployment held steady at 10.9%. while the bay area has some of the lowest rates in the state,

one city has the chronic problem with high unemployment. >> reporter: keith is one oakland's many unemployed. where he sits, things are getting any better. >> from your perspective is it getting easier to find a job? >> no, not getting easier. to me it's about the same. >> reporter: unemployment numbers may be improving in the bay area but oakland still has one of the highest jobless rates in the state. >> there are less businesses leaving the city of oakland, but there is still a reluck tans of employers of employing new people. >> oakland's unemployment rate was 16.17. this year it's 14.4%. like other parts of the state, oakland has seen job growth in construction and retail but none

in the professional sector. >> sometimes you don't get replies. >> it's especially challenging for young minority applicants between 18 and 30. one-third of them remain unemployed in oakland. >> a lot of them is coming from a school system that is struggling with the graduation rates and the other factor is the high rate of crime in oakland and high rate of gang involvement. >> reporter: at least some job seekers are finding a path to possible success. 15 people graduated from a program called water way. it's 20 weeks of plumber training that prepares graduate forces work for east bay mud or some other employer. >> i'm very excited. i do plumbing, but finally a chance to move it over. this program i feel helped me a

lot. >> reporter: oakland is not alone with other cities with high unemployment rates. pittsburg and richmond have 15%. san pablo, more than 19%. >> state health officials have ordered a recall of raw milk in northern california dairy. it was discovered in raw cream located about 60 miles south of san jose. the company voluntarily stopped distribution last monday. if you purchased clara farms raw milk products with a code date of march 27th of them should be thrown out. lisa argen joins us now. look out behind us, it looks like a mist. >> in fact the peninsula and south bay, not seeing any action yet. we are looking at light rain in the north bay. sierra nevada, winter weather advisory for overnight tonight.

>> terry: loose lease is here and hoping you enjoy a nice rain shower and again. >> lisa: we got snow in the lake county, two inches at 2,000 feet. so the cold air is moving in. willits reporting snow. so it should push along the shoreline spreading the rain. it's been raining? san francisco for last couple hours. we will be looking at a rainy day of this and rain changing over to showers but not until tomorrow. here is a look at the loop and trajectory of the rain from the south to north. low continues to sit offshore and push the rain up into marin county and into the east bay and peninsula.

highway 101, a wet go into american canyon, hercules, richmond, not yet for our friends in concord. spotty light rain in alameda into the east bay but back in san francisco, silver avenue, geary you got wet weather and down to south city a few areas of light rain. canada road, but still they have not seen the rain yet in redwood city. it continues to skirt the peninsula around moss beach but later on this morning, into the afternoon hours, making up for lost time i think the front will stall further south of san francisco. it look look more rain through the overnight hours. 46 in half moon bay. cool 45 in oakland and fairfield. winds have picked up. highlights feature more rain continue to develop in the south bay and peninsula. it will be a wet weekend with the activity mainly today

turning showers tomorrow. but another system quickly on the heels of this one sets the stage pretty soggy week into next week. here a low. it's going to stay offshore. here is the timing of it. locally through the noon hour. you'll notice it is shifting east and south. then 1:00, 2:00, it kind of sits over here. by 1:00 a.m. we've got more spotty shower activity in the north bay. you can see the low snow levels. rain is not going anywhere on sunday. 7:00 tomorrow morning, we still have the bull's-eye over the bay. then it pushes on east by 2:00 or 3:00 with spotty showers in east bay. then by the evening hours into monday, here comes our break, tuesday is looking wet, as well. 1 to 2 inches in north bay. east bay inch and a half. half an inch in san jose. snow will be coming down, air is

going to be cold enough by the time we get to 3:00 a.m. sunday but not a lot of moisture. four to six inches of snow there. low to mid-50s should do it. 53 in vallejo. 54 in san jose and rain if you going out, be careful. it will be steady light to moderate rain that doesn't want to stop. but we will look for the break tomorrow and monday and then two systems, one on tuesday and whether or not one on thursday and friday slides south. >> terry: you can get waterproof gear, go for a walk on the beach. i'll see you out there. for a while. kids in sonoma were about to be lot safer walking to school. sidewalk being built after we called attention to the danger is suddenly at a dead stop. what happened? here is heather ishimaru with the story. >> reporter: these new sidewalks and street lights appear to be

simple additions in sonoma county neighborhood but it took 20 years of work by residents to get them in part because county improvements on the state highway involves layers and layers of bureaucracy. they have lived here for 30 years. >> the project is only half done. it's supposed to cover a two-mile north of city of sonoma now phase two is now in jeopardy. >> i think it was generally unintended consequence of state legislature. i don't think anybody intended for this to happen. >> steve has been fighting for the sidewalks since his son was

in kindergarten. school children and moms with strollers navigate the narrow shoulders daily on a highway that is more and more congested over the years. phase 2 was fully funded with community taxpayer money. only state project ready to go out for bid in march, but they are faced with half his dream come true and another generation of parents left starting over. dean smith has a fifth grader and kindergartener. >> sometimes the cars are racing to make the lights and they don't pay attention. so it's extra little bit of safety on the side of the road and not be in the weeds and mud. >> i understood the money aspect for a project like this one, it was just devastating. >> supervisor valerie brown champions the project. >> when things happened at state level we were agast.
